*PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro use ventilation openings integrated into their side panels and chassis rather than relying on the top plates alone. This makes a clean, smooth top-plate design a sensible choice for these models.

Where Each One Wins
Sony OEM Plates & dbrand Darkplates 2.0
If you want something officially licensed and dead simple — Sony's your answer. They fit perfectly out of the box, no questions asked. But there are no official Sony black plates for the PS5 Pro which is a gap.
dbrand are known for quality. The Darkplates 2.0 have a solid matte textured finish, the vent design on the original PS5 version is a nice touch, and the Retro Grey colourway is genuinely cool. They cover Original and Slim well. If you're on a PS5 Pro and want black plates though, they don't have that yet.
Glistco Black Plates
Here's where we come in. Black plates across the entire PS5 family. Original, Slim, and Pro. Disc and Digital — all covered.
The finish is matte textured, fingerprint-resistant, and tool-free to install. And since we also make the Skates, Middle Skins, Wall Mount, and Vertical Stealth Mount, everything coordinates when you're building a full setup.

What About Grey?
Both dbrand and Sony have gone grey, just for different consoles.
-
Sony released a limited-edition Grey collection for the PS5 30th Anniversary, but it is no longer widely available.
-
dbrand Retro Grey is available for the PS5 Original. It's a nod to the classic PlayStation look.
-
Glistco Grey Plates are available for the PS5 Pro. Same clean matte finish, different shade for a more subtle setup.
If grey is the vibe, both brands have something worth looking at depending on which console you're on.

Why Upgrade Your Plates at All?
Fair question. Here's the short version:
- Match your setup: especially if everything else is dark or minimal
- Fingerprint-resistant surface: the white plates show every smudge
- Tool-free install: takes a few minutes, no screwdriver needed
-

The Perfect Gift This Season
GTA 6 just dropped. Everyone's buying a PS5. And Black Friday is right around the corner.
Black plates are one of the most giftable PS5 accessories out there, compact, easy to install, and immediately visible. If someone in your life just got a PS5, this is the upgrade they don't know they want yet.
One of the advantages of going Glistco is that the whole ecosystem coordinates. Here's what works together:
Mix and match, or go full black setup. Either way it's going to look good.

Final Take
dbrand makes great products. Sony plates are reliable. But if you've got a PS5 Pro and you want black plates, Glistco is the best place to get them.
And if you're building a full coordinated setup with mounts, skins, and stands, everything we make is designed to work together.
